This Belgian company specialises in natural floor coverings.
Sisal is the leaf of the agave sisalana plant. The fibres are extracted by crushing the pulpy leaves which are then washed, dried and graded. All TASIBEL’s sisal products use the superior long stable fibres (1 metre long) from East Africa. These fibres are then dyed and spun into yarn which is then woven into a carpet. The origin of the fibre and the sophistication of manufacture ensure an attractive yet durable hard-wearing carpet which is suitable for both domestic and commercial use, especially suited for high traffic areas. It also has an antibacterial effect and lessens allergy problems.
TASIBEL uses coir in combination with sisal in a unique and original weaving, providing more strength and greater life span. This is available for wall-to-wall carpeting, rugs and carpet tiles.
By combining wool and sisal, TASIBEL’s carpeting from this range combine the useful attributes of both materials and result in a subtle mix of soft yet hard-wearing carpeting.
Pulp is harvested from ecologically managed coniferous softwoods. This produces very dense and solid fibres. A wax emulsion is added to increase its moisture resistance. It is then spun into fine durable yarn which is then woven into carpeting. The fineness of paper floor coverings allows for superb weaving possibilities which create a very original decorative product. The result is a stylish, hard-wearing flooring that is easy to clean and maintain.
