Kenneth Zammit Tabona's - A Room with a View

20th November 2011

20th November til 14th December 2011

A ROOM WITH A VIEW (with apologies to EM Forster) an exhibition of 42 watercolours on display at camilleriparismode in Rabat consist of a homogenous collection of very particular interiors with still life paintings of interiors with windows through which landscapes stretch infinitely. To enter the charmed world of Kenneth Zammit Tabona’s watercolours has been described as living through a nostalgic dream; an atmospheric glimpse of a crystallised moment in time, full of jewel-like colours that dazzle with watery satins and rich velvets.

These ‘fuoridentros or dentrofuoris; a tongue-in-cheek interpretation of ‘rooms with a view ‘coined by the Reverend Professor Peter Serracino Inglott, with their ubiquitous chequered floors, Chinese vases and arum lilies have been described by fellow artist, Carol Jaccarini as ‘a visual kind of magical realism where reality is combined with fantasy; where the seemingly unreal or improbable is given life and everyday happenings are transformed into dreams wherein elements of mythology, dream or fairy story combines effortlessly with the everyday, in a complex mosaic.‘

Zammit Tabona’s paintings are found in many prestigious collections both in Malta and overseas.
The A Room with a View Exhibition will be open to the public from 21st November until 14th December at camilleriparismode rabat work_shop, during shop hours.
